Somerset Utilities and Somerset County Sign Agreement to Bring Natural Gas to the Area

Princess Anne, Md. (June 26, 2013) ---- Somerset Utilities, a Mid-Atlantic based privately held utility, has signed a franchise agreement with Somerset County as the initial step to bringing natural gas for the first time to the county, according to Jerome Sanders, general manager of the utility company.

"This agreement is the critical first step to finally making natural gas available to Somerset County by constructing a pipeline that will run approximately 26 miles from Salisbury to the Pocomoke River, along U.S. Route 13," Sanders said. "Working with Somerset County on this effort underscores our commitment to provide lower cost utility options to commercial and residential users on the Lower Eastern Shore."
